With her commitment to peace and development and trust and faith in the purposes and principles of the United Nations, Myanmar joined the Organization soon after regaining her independence. Myanmar, therefore, became the 58^th Member State of the UN on 19 April 1948.  Ever since, cooperation with the United Nations is the cornerstone of Myanmar Foreign Policy. 

          This Website is designed to serve as an official source of information about the Union of Myanmar with special focus on Myanmar's views and positions on various issues before the United Nations. You may also enter into the world of information about Myanmar through the door of this site, which contains many useful links to other related sites.  

In addition, the website also provides business information as well as visa and consular information, which will be of great use for both Myanmar citizens residing abroad and for those wishing to visit or do business in Myanmar.

 I am hopeful that the information provided will also facilitate their works in dealing with consular matters.
